> As a good rule of thumb for Vista:
> Always install applications whilst logged in as the local machine
> Administrator. By default this account should exist but is setup as
> disabled. You can enable it ... set a password to your liking ... then log
> into it to do the install. Specifically in the N1MM case: I would also
> recommend that you launch the application the first time whilst logged in as
> the Administrator. This may help with the creation of files, creation of
> registry entries (if there are any), etc.
>
> Since N1MM Logger has user files in the Program Files directory tree - it
> may also be worthy of adjusting permissions to allow a normal user to be
> able to access (create, update, delete) files there.
>
> I would assign the system's "users" group Full Control privileges to the
> N1MM logger directory and all files and folders therein.
>
> I would perform these steps logged in as Administrator; even if your normal
> user account is a member of the administrators group - you may be challenged
> by the UAC mechanism - and these steps may be slightly different.
>
> Click: Start
> Click: All programs
> Click: Accessories
> Click: Windows Explorer
>
> Now navigate to the N1MM folder:
> In the Folders list - by clicking on the arrow to the left of the object:
> - Computer
> - C:
> - Program Files
> Then (left) click on Program Files
> The right hand pane should now show all the application folders.
>
> Right-click: N1MM logger
> Choose: Properties
>
> Security Tab
> Click: Edit...
> Under group or user names: Select: Users
> Under Permissions for Users: Check: Full control
> Click: Apply
> Click: OK
>
> General Tab
> If the Read-only attribute is checked or filled:
> Uncheck: Read-Only
> Click: Apply
> Choose: Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files
> Click: OK
> Click: OK
>
> (I'm not sure how difficult this all would be to implement in the N1MM
> logger installer - but if it could be put there it would help greatly not
> only for issues with Vista ...
> but for anyone who's using Windows XP and doesn't run with elevated
> privileges.)

> The problem is a bug in Vista. The solution is to UNregister the specified
