I will be "advertizing" your contest over the coming weeks, Ed, by my posts at the various QRP reflectors that I belong to as well as my comments that I'll make in the Contest Manager column that I'll submit for the upcoming QRP Quarterly magazine.

On an aside note sort of vein BUT related, in part, to one “hoped for outcome” over the coming months is an increase in contest participation from our DX brethren. In an effort to increase our organization’s participation in, as well as participation by DX entities, other contesting events, I was happy to see a communiqué from Ed, PY4WAS.  Ed, the President of the CWJF organization down in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, contacted me recently regarding his organization soliciting support from the QRP community for their upcoming CQMM DX Contest that starts on 1200Z, 21 April and ends at 2359Z on April 22.  The CQ Manchester Mineira DX Contest (CQMM DX Contest) is a continuation of the popular and successful Manchester Mineira All America CW Contest. The contest has been in existence since 1993 and, over the years, has morphed into an international competition. As an aside note: the city of Juiz de Fora, one of the most industrialized cities in Latin America, is referred to as "Manchester Mineira" (The Manchester of the State of Minas Gerais); thus the connection with “CWJF.”



The CWJF group has always included a QRP category for Single Operator entries and is anxious to expand QRP participation; thus, QRP contacts count 10 points, the maximum per QSO points.  Your participation in this event is encouraged.  Check it out at:  http://www.cwjf.com.br/  Rules are published in English.  More participation by us in their events may encourage more participation by them in ours - can’t hurt to try, ‘eh???
