(Araucaria) TS 850 VELHO DE GUERRA

Pessoal operei o WPX 2010 com um TS 850 - yagi 5 elementos para 10 metros
acoplada para 15 metros... com um acoplador ameritron para não judiar do
antena tuner...

em um total de 8 horas, foi possível fazer 500 contatos sendo 90% em 15
metros e 10% em 10 metros...
o ruido que tinha com o ic 746 foi totalmente zerado.. o ts 850 não possue
filtros, em 15 metros trabalhei sem rotor pois a antena perde a diretividade
quase que totalmente... devido ao trabalho, e familia, não pude operar mais
que 8 horas neste fim de semana... Mais realmente fiquei surpreso com o
radio, fiquei feliz com a recepção... sei que tem muitos equipamentos
melhores sem duvida, mais o custo beneficio pra mim, estou vendo que vou
utilizar ele por muito tempo ainda... AUDIO ESPETACULAR... quem eu escutava
retornava...

Ainda da duvida li este relato de um amigo que tb fez o WPX... provavelmente
em outras condições de tempo, e antenas teria feito um bom estrago...
...... Este vai ficar na bancada por muito tempo, vou adquirir novos é
claro, mais este vai ficar por aqui, comparado ao FT 897D... o ruido era
menor... os filtros NB ME ASSUSTARAM... O RUIDO QUE SEMPRE TIVE PRATICAMENTE
SUMIU........... e ja passaram aqui FT 920 - IC 746 primeira versão...

Hi all
I must say I had my doubts about my new to me TS-850SAT when I first got it
in the shack. I said: "Too small, no filters, no dual watch, no scope, no
roofing filter, etc", I said to myself: "I don't know how they ever called
this a "contest radio".
Well, I just finished CQWW WPX Contest single operator all bands.
(I had to know abt the rig)
Total: 1059 Prefixes = 514 Total Score = 1,318,410
My first EVER - over 1 million points out of all the rigs I have owned-
using this rig and it performed flawlessly and was effortless and was
untiring to use.
I would recommend this radio to anyone for any Ham Contesting Adventure.
I thought about selling this one BUT NOW:
I am going to get two and gang them together.
