CTDXCC CW Contesters:

Just want to give the group a "heads up" on a nice little contest that started in 2006 and seems to get better every year. Called "The CWJF Manchester Mineira All America CW Contest" it runs from 1500 UTC Saturday May 15 to 2359 UTC Sunday the 16th. Only contacts with the Americas count. North American stations can work other North American stations but the multipliers are South American prefixes (each band 80-10). Packet cluster use is allowed for everyone. There is no low power division but there is a QRP one. Last year since I figured I had no chance to be competitive with 100 watts and no packet so I entered as QRP and was pleasantly surprised to win North America. With 5 watts I worked most of what I heard and even had a fair number of answers to CQs. Other stations get more points for working a QRP entrant so that helped. Anyway I thought it was a fun contest and for once I wasn't having to slip through the East Coast curtain to work most of the DX stations. We should have decent propagation to South America on 15 and maybe even ten. Put it on your calendar.
